Smart For Life Overview

Smart For Life Cookies were created to help people lose weight using a low calorie, meal replacement approach.  With over 40 clinics in North America, Smart for Life is also one of the largest weight management centers in the US.

How does the Smart for Life Cookie Diet work?

The premise of the cookie diet is eating low calorie. You will eat 6 cookies a day and a sensible dinner. Each cookie has a proprietary blend of amino acids, fiber, and vitamins that will offer appetite suppression and reduce hunger cravings throughout the day.

The Smart for Life weight loss program is available in two different formats:

At Home
The"at home" plan is more convenient and less intrusive.  You can simply order online and have the products delivered right to your door.

In Clinic
With their "in clinic" medical program, they offer you direct physician care, meaning you have to schedule an appointment with a certified center. During your visit a complete physical is given, appropriate lab tests, blood work, body scan, etc. You're probably asking if your insurance provider would cover this type of visit and the answer is no. We recommended the in clinic program for those who are dangerously obese.

Smart For Life Testimonials

Most of the testimonials found online were positive with many boasting loses of 10lbs to 15lbs during the first two weeks.  Many of the skeptics were pleased with their first experience and were very willing to purchase again in bulk.  But in our research it was evident that this diet is not for everyone.  The negative reviews and comments were on price and lack of variety.  Some went as far as to call the diet boring.  There are also no consumer discounts and products must be purchased from the official website.

Hi everone! I am so excited about this site. There are so many resources. I used to be overweight and unhealthy until I decided to take charge of my life and my health. Since then I have lost 60lbs and I’m well on my way to my goal.I have so much more energy and wish I would have had the motivation sooner. My trainer stuck with me through it and she was absolutely amazing. Now I just use her for tune ups here and there when I need it. I am heading to the doctor today to see if I can stop my diabetes meds. I am hoping for the best. Looking forward to getting to know everyone. Thanks Tammy

I have been on the diet for only 5 days and have lose 4lbs. I find it easy to do and what I really like about the diet is it forces you to read every label while shopping for food. Not surprisingly the things we thought were good for us are loaded with sodium. Very bad for water retention and heart disease. Maintaining should be easy when we go off, as this diet teaches us how and what to eat for life. Can't wait to loose the 25lbs I want. Good luck everyone!

Too little variety, boring to be restricted to cookies all day! I can't stand to look at them any more. I also did not lose weight, although I followed it religiously. I only lost 2-1/2 pounds after 10 weeks of suffering with these cookies. The company's response is that I must have done something wrong. I did not. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Do these cookies really fill you up? I'm a night time eater - If I eat one cookie for breakfast - two for lunch - then eat a regular dinner and the other 3 cookies before bed - would this work - would I still lose weight ?

Just turned 50 and exercise like a crazy guy but couldn't get results. This is the only program that works - lost 13 pounds in first 2 weeks. Need to drink plenty of water 4 to 6 large glasses a day - makes the cookies go down easier. eat plenty of veggies and a little protein for dinner - more water at night. You can cheat every once in a while but get back on the program.

@Karen - Hi Karen. If you don't eat meat I think you can get away with eating a high protein soy based meat alternative along with the recommended veggies for dinner.

Okay, so I have to let the readers on this blog know this. I was on this diet for 7 weeks and lost a total of 18 lbs. When I started the diet I noticed a change in my eyes. Blurry, couldn't focus on the words had to refocus my eyes on any words or computer. would get a double vision type thing going on even went to the pharmacy to try the lowest on the readers as I have perfect vision normally. Well, I didn't connect the dots till today. I stopped eating the cookies 2 weeks ago and the symptoms went away, not thinking that it could be the cookies doing this eye thing, I thought well, I will have a day or two and eat cookies and then maintain and eat healthy other days. Then Bam again today I had 5 cookies and my eyes started getting all blurry and double vision.. so anywho, I won't be eating these again, doesn't happen in everyone I know but everyone is different so I figured I would post it just in case others have had this happen and didn't connect the two together. My body must not like something or I may be allergic to something in the ingredients either way, just wanted to get the word out. Hope this helps anyone. Too bad to because I liked the ease of just grabbing a cookie. Please feel free to comment on this if anyone has had any symptoms like this or any for that matter.

I have been on the diet for 11 days. I had no difficulty adjusting to the eating of the cookies. I am so desperate I knew this is what is needed. The first few days I did lose about 4 lbs. My problem now is that I am constipated. I know that I probably have lost more than the 4lbs but the constipation is giving me a false reading on the scale. Any suggestions? I have increased my vegetables for my dinner meal. I have a 5 week supply of cookies and I am going to finish it up.

Hi Kelly, I lost 50 lbs on the diet and have managed to keep it off for over 2 years. After you go off the cookies, you sould eat sensibly and have small frequesnt meals throught the day. Portion control and exercise are a MUST!. It's not complicated. You have to make the lifestyle change, otherwise the weight will come back. It's all in your hands! Don't focus/obsess over your weight once you go off the diet/cookies. Instead, judge your weight by your clothes. If they begin to be snug, you know that you are off track, but don't wait, hit the gym, eat better, etc. Like I said, it's a life style change.
