ATD: Is it safe to use a colon cleanse for weight loss?
Question:

Do you think its safe to use a Colon Cleanse? Do they help you lose weight?
Answer:

No… colon cleansing is not necessarily safe–there are different methods used (enemas versus oral concoctions), but basically they function by getting a lot of fluid into your large intestine so you have a large amount of fluid bowel output. There isn’t any benefit to this. It does make people ‘feel’ like they’re cleaned out, but doesn’t really affect waste output and especially does not affect weight loss in terms of fat loss. I cannot think of a single reason to recommend a colon cleanse.

Maybe I am a emotional mess today or your post just hit home. I have been that “fat girl” at work and in public. The success of my weightloss motivates me daily.
